VETERANS MEMORIAL IN HIGHLAND COUNTY
The citizens of Highland County would like to say "Thanks" to all Veterans.
Work has begun on a Veterans Memorial to be located on the Courthouse lawn in Monterey as depicted in the above artist’s rendition. The Memorial will include a granite wall honoring Veterans from all branches of service and a "Walk of Honor". The Memorial and "Walk" are a special way to honor the courageous men and women who have served our country. The "Walk" will consist of 8 x 4 x 2 brick pavers that can be inscribed with three 13 character lines as follows:
LINE 1_ NAME OF VETERAN (If the name is more than 13 characters, you may use Line 1 for first name,
LINE 2_ BRANCH OF SERVICE
LINE 3_ YEARS OF SERVICE (If years of service are unknown, you may list the name of the War or conflict)
A donation of $75 per paver will be required. We need your order no later than August 30, 2007 to insure that we have enough time to inscribe the pavers and have them in place for the dedication on November 11, 2007. After August 30, the donation per paver will be $100 due to the additional costs for installation. An order form is provided for you to submit your request. For multiple orders, please reproduce the form. Donations to help with the cost of the granite memorial and installation are also appreciated.
